It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dr. Steve, PhD, F@ASS, FONHPA the illustrious Editor-in-Chief of pseudoScience. Dr. Steve's journey was marked by a profound dedication to mediocrity and a tireless pursuit of irrelevance. He passed away on November 3rd, 2023, leaving a legacy that will continue to baffle and amuse scholars for generations to come.

Dr. Steve's illustrious career as the EIC of pseudoScience was highlighted by his publication of a singular, remarkable article, which remains the sole beacon of scholarly achievement in the journal. Although his output was modest in quantity, it was extraordinary in its lack of both significance and basis in reality, achieving the journal's unique standard of excellence. The article, titled "The 2023 Churchill Scholar Cohort is Overrun with Non-Proliferative and Autosomal Dominant Leos" was lauded by critics as "a marvel...extremely specific and utterly irrelevant."
As a founding board member of the Association for SudoScience (ASS), Dr. Steve championed the cause of pushing the boundaries of academic absurdity. His dedication to promoting research of little to no real-world importance and fostering an environment where ideas were embraced for their sheer pointlessness was unrivaled. His tireless work in this capacity earned him the affectionate title of Fellow at the Association for SudoScience (F@ASS).

One of Dr. Steve's most enduring contributions to the field was his epic essay, "The Sheer Joy of Staring at a Blank Canvas for Hours," which garnered critical acclaim among those who appreciated the profound pointlessness of life's little pleasures. In a world consumed by purpose and productivity, Dr. Steve celebrated the delight of doing nothing with an eloquence that will forever be etched in the annals of pseudo-science. This work earned him the title of Fellow of the National Horse Puzzle Association (FONHPA)
In his memory, pseudoScience mourns the loss of a true maverick, a pioneer in the pursuit of academic nonsense, and a master of turning the inconsequential into an art form. Dr. Steve's legacy will continue to inspire future generations to embrace the joy of exploring the trivial, and to find humor and absurdity in the world of intellectual inquiry.

He is survived by his fellow members of ASS and a world that will forever be touched by his unique brand of satirical brilliance. Dr. Steve, PhD, FONHPA, leaves behind a hole in the heart of pseudoScience that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to illuminate the path to irreverent discovery for years to come.
